New Paediatric Knee Brace Targets Contractures During External Fixation .
Knee contractures can complicate paediatric limb reconstruction, prolong rehabilitation and compromise functional recovery. The newly introduced OPSB Knee TractorFIX orthosis is designed to address these challenges in patients approximately 2–21 years of age undergoing tibial treatment with external fixation. The brace connects directly to an external fixator, providing a standardized alternative to customized contracture-management devices. Its introduction may simplify treatment planning and orthotic integration during complex deformity correction, although comparative evidence regarding range of motion and functional outcomes is not yet available.
