20 patients with full-thickness rotator cuff tears were randomized to either a standard care treatment or 0.015mg/mL rhBMP-12/ACS along with standard care treatment during open rotator cuff repair to assess the safety and feasibility of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-12 (rhBMP-12) on an absorbable collagen sponge (ACS) as an adjuvant.
