Synopsis
16 patients with Pipkin Type 1 fractures were randomized to receive treatment by either closed reduction (conservative group) or closed reduction followed by fragment excision (surgical group). The results of the study indicated that the surgical group had significantly better Merle d\'Aubigne and Postel scores in comparison to the conservative group.
