Synopsis

70 young patients (<40 years) with complete, isolated and first time ACL lesions (time from injury >6 weeks) were randomized to undergo reconstruction using the double bundle (DB) or single bundle (SB) repair. At 2 year follow-up, DB ACL reconstruction demonstrated significantly better VAS, anterior knee laxity, and final objective IKDC scores over SB ACL reconstruction.
