Synopsis

108 patients undergoing ankle fracture fixation were randomized to receive either a splint (n=54) or no splint (n=54). The primary outcomes of interest were ankle edema, pain on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) scores.
