Five RCTs (n=295 patients) were included in this meta-analysis comparing liposomal bupivacaine (n=148) vs. non-liposomal local anesthetic agents (n=147). The main outcomes that were analyzed were the postoperative visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores and opioid consumption, measured in morphine milligram equivalents (MME).
