56 patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the carpometacarpal (CMC) joint of the thumb (rhizarthrosis) were randomized to receive either an intervention treatment of intra-articular sodium hyaluronate (SH) or a triamcinolone acetonide (TA) corticoid injection.
