Evaluation of a Computed Tomography-Based (CT) Navigation System Prototype for Hip Arthroscopy in the Treatment of Femoroacetabular Cam Impingement
Arthroscopy. 2009 Apr;25(4):382-91. Epub 2009 Feb 1150 patients suffering from femoroacetabular cam impingement were randomized to receive arthroscopic offset correction using either a computer assisted or non-assisted method. The results from this study indicated that both procedures improved the alpha angle and pain scores; however, no differences existed between groups at an average follow-up of 26 months. This study indicated that the computer assistance did not provide any additional benefits to the surgical procedure.
