Synopsis
32 patients with short, displaced, midshaft clavicle fractures were randomized to treatment with either locked intramedullary fixation or plate fixation. Patients were assessed at a mean follow-up of 12.4 months. Results revealed that both treatments led to similar shoulder function, evident by the Constant and Oxford shoulder scores.
