Synopsis

133 consecutive patients with displaced midshaft fractures of the clavicle were randomized to undergo open reduction and internal fixation with either the 3D contoured reconstruction plate or an S-shaped plate fixed superiorly. Where clinically indicated, the midshaft fractures of the clavicle exhibited better fixation and clinical outcomes with the 3D reconstruction plate than the standard method...
