Synopsis

56 patients with displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures were randomized (in the initial study completed in 1993 with a 1 year follow up) to either receive operative treatment or conservative treatment. The results at the 15 year long-term follow up period of this study revealed no longer term differences between both groups with respect to the functional and radiological outcomes.
