Synopsis

14 trials (1,725 knees) were evaluated in this meta-analysis to compare knee pain, function, and reoperation rates after total knee arthroplasty, with or without patellar resurfacing. The analysis indicated that patellar resurfacing reduced the rate of operation, but displayed similar anterior knee pain scores as the non-resurfacing patients.
