Synopsis

120 patients with chronic (>3month) rotator cuff disease were randomized to a structured manual therapy and home exercise program or a placebo program for a period of 12 weeks. At 22 months, patients receiving manual therapy and exercise as treatment for chronic rotator cuff disease showed greater improvement on the shoulder pain and disability index than the placebo group.
